Job summary

Olsson seeks a Mechanical Field Engineer (Travel Required) to coordinate mechanical construction activities across Midwest sites—Des Moines, IA; Omaha, NE; Springfield, MO; St. Louis, MO; Tulsa, OK—on embedded client-side teams.

The role is onsite with a larger construction management group and requires strong mechanical background. You will oversee installations, ensure alignment with plans and schedules, and support safety, with up to 100% travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Five or more years of experience in mechanical construction, systems oversight, or industrial capital projects.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
• Willingness to work a flexible travel-intensive schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage mechanical construction activities on site.
• Oversee contractor activities and ensure alignment with plans and schedules.
• Lead installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems with other leads.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to meet objectives, specs and safety requirements.
• Assist in developing and executing construction schedules for plant shutdowns and downtimes.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and elevate concerns as appropriate.
• Support site safety regulations and company policies.
• Prepare status updates for leadership and client stakeholders.
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
