Job summary

P&E Constructors, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to develop accurate, competitive project estimates for industrial construction across the United States. You will interpret client requirements, perform quantity takeoffs, and assess supplier pricing under the direction of a Senior Estimator.

The role requires up to 90% travel, with per diem and per project assignments. A Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering and 5–15 years of estimating experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–15 years' experience estimating heavy industrial, energy, infrastructure or similar projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficient with Bluebeam.
• Strong understanding of WBS, AWP, CWA, FIWP and their estimating/scheduling use.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong technical writing and editing abilities.
• Ability to prepare detailed RFIs to resolve inconsistencies.

Responsibilities

• Support proposal development under the direction of a Senior Lead Estimator.
• Review RFP packages, project scope, deliverables, and estimating requirements.
• Develop accurate quantity takeoffs to support estimates.
• Review and approve BOMs and BOQs prepared by estimating staff.
• Evaluate material and subcontractor bid tabs and approve supplier pricing.
• Participate in estimate reviews and validation meetings.
• Assist with bid forms and proposal documentation.
• Support estimate turnover after award.
• Assist with large change order estimates when requested.
• Apply sound estimating judgment to produce complete, accurate estimates on deadlines.
• Lead and coordinate small estimating teams when required.
