Job summary

At BOND, a leading contractor in the New York area, we seek a Mechanical Estimator with a strong background in estimating mechanical and plumbing systems for power generation and HVAC projects. You will review drawings, prepare accurate take-offs, and bid packages while coordinating with subcontractors and vendors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or equivalent, excellent math and communication skills, and proficiency with Excel and estimating software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience estimating mechanical/plumbing equipment and piping systems.
• Strong reading of engineer drawings and technical specs.
• Proficient with Excel and estimating software; good math and data skills.
• Ability to communicate with vendors, team and customers.

Responsibilities

• Secure plans and specifications and understand scope of work bid.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and evaluate site conditions for estimates.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Identify subcontractors, review scope, and evaluate proposals.
• Provide accurate take-offs of materials and labor hours.
• Prepare bid documents and cost estimates for bids.
• Assist in project buy-out and handover to field ops.
