Job summary

NXI Search partners with a leading Texas-based mechanical contractor to hire an experienced Mechanical Estimator skilled in HVAC, plumbing, or piping for complex commercial and industrial projects.

You will review drawings, perform takeoffs, obtain supplier pricing, and craft competitive bids while collaborating with preconstruction, operations, and clients to win work. Remote/hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating for HVAC, plumbing, piping, or sheet metal projects.
• Ability to review drawings and specifications to develop detailed takeoffs.
• Experience with supplier and subcontractor pricing and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, or sheet metal packages.
• Perform labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor takeoffs.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and bid documents to establish scope.
• Solicit and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare bid proposals, exclusions, and value-engineering options.
• Collaborate with project management and field operations during handover.
• Assist with change-order pricing and post-award estimating.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
