Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician IV to conduct electrical, mechanical and environmental tests on current and new designs under supervision. You will document results, support continuous improvement, and assist with lab audits and 5S initiatives.

The role requires a high school diploma and roughly a decade of relevant experience in a test lab environment, with physical capacity for lab duties. This is a full-time on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Electrical, mechanical and environmental testing experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory procedures and scope.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds and work in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and products in testing procedures.
• Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products.
• Use measurement devices to record data and document results.
• Interpret measurements and document scientific data clearly.
• Assemble and fabricate test equipment per blueprints.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities.
• Prepare formal and informal test reports.
• Assist with the Engineering Laboratory Audit and 5S programs.

Conducts continuous improvement activities to reduce the potential for product defects. Involved with problem identification, containment activities, action plan development and execution. Ensure that the test requirements for product testing and processes are defined and met.Responsibilities:Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing proceduresPerform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for stated criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of OperationsUse various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices;Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurementsAssists in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specificationsFollow guidelines for bill of materialsSupport manufacturing through troubleshooting activities; Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environmentPrepare formal and informal test reportsAssist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programsRequirements:High School Diploma10 Years of relevant work experiencePhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
