Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Manager for the Rolling Meadows RF and IR Mechanical team, overseeing 7+ engineers and designers in mechanical design. You will lead staff, coordinate hardware project execution, and collaborate with cross-functional groups including electrical, systems, and manufacturing to deliver EO/optical/mechanical solutions while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires a BS in STEM with 5+ years' relevant experience or MS with 3+ years, US

Qualifications

• BS degree in STEM and minimum 5 years relevant experience; or MS degree in STEM with minimum 3 years relevant experience
• Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and building teams on complex technical projects
• Demonstrated interest in process improvement initiatives
• Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors
• US Citizenship
• Ability to obtain government security clearance prior to start

Responsibilities

• A Mechanical manager will oversee a group of 7+ engineers and/or designers performing mechanical design
• Responsibilities include leading and developing engineering staff, representing the organization to customers and stakeholders, overseeing/owning hardware project execution
