LSI, Inc. is hiring a Manager of Mechanical Engineering in Jacksonville. The role leads a diverse team, delivering from concept to production while meeting customer and internal standards. Strong expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and GD&T is essential, with familiarity in MIL-STD and PLM/FEA tools.

The manager will coordinate with program management, support proposals, manage quality and manufacturing interfaces, and travel as required to support projects across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a diverse group of employees.
• Knowledge of engineering development processes.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, MIL-STD-100G or current equivalents.
• Knowledge of military land, air, and sea structural and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels of the organization and with customers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with PDM, PLM, and FEA.
• Understanding of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science.
• Knowledge of fabrication methods including metal machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
• Familiarity with industry and military specifications for materials, parts, and processes.
• Creativity, innovation, and excellence in a fast-paced team environment.
• Team-oriented demeanor; able to collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical engineering efforts from product development to delivery.
• Manage workload and staffing requirements.
• Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and counseling as needed.
• Work with program management to develop cost and schedule baselines.
• Develop processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Assist in Product Data Management, Configuration Management, and Change Control Boards.
• Support proposal development, quality assurance, procurement, and manufacturing.
• Provide routine status updates to engineering leadership and project managers.
• Maintain effective customer communication and ensure design meet requirements.
