Job summary

Brown and Root seeks a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with leadership experience to supervise the mechanical department on EPC projects in the Oil & Gas sector. You will guide process studies, piping design reviews, and client interactions.

You will manage staffing, budgets, and delivery schedules, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with procurement, construction, and vendors to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a P.E. license.
  • Minimum 12 years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Experience in oil/gas and petrochemical EPC environments.
  • Proficient in formal pipe stress analysis (Caesar II preferred).
  • Ability to develop equipment data sheets and bid packages.
  • Strong communication with client management and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise department performance and goals; manage process and regulatory compliance engineers.
  • Maintain client communications to achieve assignment goals and monitor cost/schedule commitments.
  • Provide technical guidance to mechanical engineering team on client projects and deliverables.
  • Assist with business development through preparation of engineering services proposals.
  • Interface with clients to enhance progress and develop positive relationships.
  • Prepare technical presentations and proposals for business development.
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work, cost proposals and technical support.
  • Determine staffing and scheduling requirements, project budget and delivery schedules.
  • Help train and develop mechanical department team members.
  • Collaborate with procurement, construction, and external vendors.
  • Review and seal piping design documents; review technical reports prior to issuance.

  • B.S., Mechanical Engineering
  • (12) years’ minimum experience
  • P.E. License
  • Experience to include Team/Group/Department Leadership
  • Experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical business lines in EPC environment
  • Experience with formal pipe stress is required. Caesar II software is preferred
  • Ability to develop equipment data sheets, requisition packages, technical bid reviews
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers, and engineers
  • Adept at communicating with client management teams of all levels on a wide variety of engineering and plant related subjects
  • Ability to physically perform field trips to meet with clients and personnel
  • Ability to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
