Job summary

Circuit Check Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team delivering fixture designs for in‑circuit and functional testing of PCBs and electro‑mechanical assemblies.

You will drive CAD work, FEA, manufacturing inputs, and ERP releases while mentoring a team of seven to ten engineers and aligning with cross‑functional partners to meet quality, cost, and cycle targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years in test fixture development or electro‑mechanical assemblies.
  • 5+ years leading multiple direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team through fixture development for automated test equipment.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, engineering and manufacturing on requirements.
  • Improve design processes and tool capabilities for efficiency.
  • Report key performance metrics and manage project timelines.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, development and performance for 7–10 reports.

Primary Objective of Position:

The Mechanical Engineering Manager leads a team responsible for the development of fixtures used for in-circuit and functional testing of printed circuit and electro-mechanical assemblies, including: generation of required computer aided design files; finite element and strain analysis and verification; engineering quality control; generation of manufacturing planning inputs and execution instructions; and ERP system release of engineered demands to the procurement and manufacturing teams. This manager establishes standards for tools, processes, and techniques used to efficiently complete and verify high quality, manufacturing-ready test fixture designs.

Major Areas of Accountability:
  • Manage the flow of new customer demands through the Mechanical Engineering, Finite Element Analysis, Engineering Quality Control, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, and Strain Gauge Testing processes to achieve quality, cost, and cycle time effective execution
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to assure proper incorporation of technical requirements into test fixture designs
  • Identify and implement design process and software tool enhancements that result in continuous improvement in the efficiency and utilization of engineering resources
  • Maintain and routinely report comprehensive and balanced key performance metrics
  • Lead talent acquisition/retention, employee development, and performance management efforts for a team of seven to ten direct reports
  • Mentor subordinates in a manner that fosters continuous professional and technical capability growth, and that reinforces common utilization of design best practices
  • Lead or participate in process improvement efforts and in strategic initiatives that extend across functional organization boundaries
  • Support design for manufacturability assessments of test fixture designs.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 10 or more years of related experience in the development of test fixtures for automated test equipment (ATE) applications and/or the development of electro‑mechanical assemblies for automation applications
  • 5 or more years leading multiple direct reports in a mechanical or electro‑mechanical engineering discipline.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Thorough understanding of automated in‑circuit and functional testing of printed circuit board and “box‑level” assemblies in both volume production and product development environments
  • In‑depth knowledge of one or more Mechanical CAD software packages (AutoCad, Creo, SolidWorks)
  • Solid working knowledge of one or more Product Lifecycle Management systems (Arena, Oracle Agile, PTC Windchill)
  • Fluent in one or more mainstream ERP systems (e.g. Epicor, IFS, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Sage, SAP)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office software suite
  • Capacity to deal with routine priority changes among multiple competing demands and to effectively manage deadline pressure during peak workload periods
  • Highly effective teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Well versed in appropriate confidentiality and security practices in the handling of CUI‑ITAR and similarly restricted intellectual property
  • Requires a strong initiative, proactive nature, and a sense of urgency.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
Pay and Benefits

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship for an employment visa (e.g., H1B status). Because Circuit Check is a federal contractor, we participate in the E‑Verify program in certain locations, as required by law.

Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Circuit Check. Compensation includes base salary and performance‑based annual bonuses. Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, and retirement programs. Paid leave includes paid time off and holiday pay.
