Job summary

Lincoln Electric's Fori Automation facility in Shelby Township, MI offers a Mechanical Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. The program provides hands-on experience building and debugging robotic work cells and industrial automation systems.

You will be paired with a mentor, participate in workshops, and explore leadership exposure, with potential for full‑time opportunities through our Engineering Development Program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship.
• Desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity with OSHA, SDS, and ANSI (RIA) safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom manufacturing equipment tailored to specific customer requirements.
• Design and implement robotic systems for customer applications.
• Engineer robotic solutions to optimize internal manufacturing processes.
• Conduct engineering analysis on mechanical designs to validate performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
