Job summary

Lincoln Electric's Automation facility in Bettendorf, IA is seeking bright engineering students for the Mechanical Engineering Summer 2027 Internship. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, and debug custom robotic work cells and industrial automation systems.

The program connects academic knowledge with real-world manufacturing, includes hands-on instruction, and may lead to full-time opportunities through our Engineering Development Program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship.
• Desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Familiarity with OSHA, SDS, and ANSI (RIA) safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom manufacturing equipment tailored to specific customer requirements.
• Design and implement robotic systems for customer applications with a focus on automation.
• Engineer robotic solutions to optimize internal manufacturing processes.
• Conduct engineering analysis on mechanical designs to validate performance, identify improvements, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
