Job summary

Roush is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Vehicle Engineering team in Allen Park, MI for the Fall 2026 term. This paid internship offers exposure to body and vehicle systems design, development, and testing within automotive programs.

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor's in mechanical engineering, have CAD experience (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX), be proficient in MS Office, and be willing to work onsite 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to learn body and vehicle engineering systems design, development and testing in the automotive field.
• Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) and proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Learn and support body and vehicle engineering systems design, development and testing for automotive applications.
• Attend design reviews and assist with hands-on project work in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for a mechanical engineering student to intern with our growing Vehicle Engineering team for the fall of 2026 term. We offer a dynamic work environment and exposure to many unique projects! This position is a paid internship and is located in Allen Park, MI with occasional work in Livonia, MI.

To be considered as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will need:

• Minimum junior standing at a college or university
• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
• Experience using CAD software (Solid works, CATIA, NX)
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong desire to learn body and vehicle engineering systems design, development, and testing as it is related to the automotive industry
• Willingness and desire to get hands‑on experience
• Willing and able to work a 40-hour work week M-F onsite

A successful Mechanical Engineering Intern may also have:

• Related education and experience in aerospace engineering
• Prior internship experience in an automotive related environment
• Hands‑on mechanical experience through educational or personal hobbies
• Interest in an automotive culture
• Mechanical project team experience (Formula SAE/Baja/EV)
