Roush invites motivated engineering students to join the Composites Group as a Mechanical Engineering Intern for fall 2026 in Livonia, MI. This onsite 40-hour weekly paid internship offers exposure to design, build, and testing activities within a dynamic automotive environment.

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics preferred) and have a passion for vehicle systems, CAD experience, and a strong desire to learn and contribute to

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a 40-hour work week from August 2026- December 2026.
• U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident allowing ITAR compliance.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Mechatronics preferred.
• Minimum of freshman standing.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Strong desire to learn and apply engineering concepts in design & development or manufacturing.
• Passion for working on vehicles and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support design efforts utilizing SolidWorks.
• Support build/assembly efforts.
• Diagnose problems and conduct root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with other engineering groups and fabrication shop.
• Support product development testing.
• Work on unique engineering problems and challenge your engineering skills.
• Apply your academic knowledge to real world engineering challenges.
• Tackle unique challenges never taken on before.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to work a 40-hour work week from August 2026- December 2026
• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance
• Currentlypursuing a bachelor'sor master's degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Mechatronics preferred
• Minimum of freshman standing
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Proficiencyin MS Office applications
• Strong desire to learn and apply concepts related to engineering system design & development or manufacturing in the automotive industry
• Passion for working on vehicles and mechanical systems
• Abilityto think outside the box and enjoy research and development type activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Formula SAE/Baja experience
• Hands-on automotive/mechanical diagnosis and repair experience
• CAD experience (SolidWorks, Catia V5/V6 or similar)
• Prior internship experience in an automotive related environment
• Interest in electric and autonomous vehicles and technology
