Job summary

McClure Engineering is offering a Mechanical Engineering Internship led under the supervision of a seasoned engineer. The intern will help perform energy and load calculations, assist with system design and equipment sizing, and collaborate with drafting/design teams on construction documents.

The role includes field inspections, data gathering, and presenting findings. Candidates should be pursuing a Mechanical Engineering BS with ABET accreditation, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate

Qualifications

• Junior Year majoring in Mechanical Engineering by the start of the Internship
• Pursuing B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET accredited institution
• G.P.A. - 3.0 cumulative or above
• Previous engineering internship or related experience strongly preferred
• Leadership experience in university activities a plus
• Ability to seek guidance from more experienced Engineers and retain/apply the learnings to future tasks
• Enjoys getting "hands dirty" as well as using intellectual capabilities

The Work Environment:

• Work environment is primarily indoors at firms’ facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.)
• While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
