Job summary

McClure Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team under the supervision of a more experienced Engineer. You will be exposed to electrical design of lighting, power distribution and fire alarm systems, and you will collaborate with mechanical and electrical Drafter/Designers on construction documents.

You will analyze data, prepare technical reports and documentation, assist in the design and development of electrical systems, and research commercially available

Qualifications

• Junior Year EE major by internship start
• Pursuing BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited program
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• Previous engineering internship or related experience preferred
• Leadership experience in university activities a plus
• Ability to seek guidance from more experienced engineers and apply learnings
• Enjoys hands-on work as well as using intellectual capabilities

• Analyze data and prepare technical reports and documentation


• Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and circuits


• Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project/client needs.


• Provide excellent communication to all stakeholders


• Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Junior Year majoring in Electrical Engineering by start of the Internship


• Pursuing B.S. Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution


• G.P.A. - 3.0 cumulative or above


• Previous engineering internship or related experience strongly preferred


• Leadership experience in university activities a plus


• Ability to seek guidance from more experienced Engineers and retain/apply the learnings to future tasks


• Enjoys getting \"hands dirty\" as well as using intellectual capabilities

The Work Environment:

• Work environment is primarily indoors at firms’ facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required. (PPE is provided by firm.)


• While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
