Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineering intern at J.W. Speaker, you will utilize your sharp engineering skills within a dynamic environment supporting out Mechanical Test Lab. Don't expect to sit at a desk all day - our interns work closely with our teams on a variety of tasks, including product testing, documenting and standardizing processes, updating a variety of testing equipment (spray chamber, wind tunnel, dust chamber, anvil vibration shakers, etc.) and minor CAD work for concept designs.

Qualifications

• Must be working towards a mechanical engineering or industrial engineering degree at an accredited college or university.
• Willing to work year-round (typically 8-12 hours per week during school year, then full-time during breaks and summer when possible)
• Prefer Sophomore status, but all school years are encouraged to apply!

Hiring Process
The internship hiring process consists of two interviews. Typically, the first interview is conducted at your college or university campus or over the phone. The second interview is at the J.W. Speaker corporate headquarters in Germantown, WI. All candidates will be notified of hiring decisions via e-mail or phone and validated with a formal offer letter around December 1, 2026. Occasionally, we may receive requests for interns after this date and will reach out to those interns who best fit our new hiring needs.
