Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for the Mechanical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 position. You will work in our Boise, ID or Kansas City, MO offices, gaining hands-on experience on HVAC, plumbing, and utility piping systems for industrial facilities.

The internship is part of the Summer Internship Program and runs a 12-week schedule starting May 17, 2027, with flexible start date for the individual. Ideal for undergrad/grad students ready to contribute to real projects.

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, or related, Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
Must be 18 or older.
Demonstrated interest in Mechanical Engineering and a desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work.
Interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.
