Job summary

Signify is offering a Mechanical Engineering Intern role onsite in Peachtree City, GA, working with the Product Development team. You’ll contribute to design progress, CAD modeling, and prototype work while learning from senior engineers.

You will pursue a BS/MS in mechanical engineering, develop basic design skills, and collaborate across functions in a fast-paced, globally leading lighting company that values diversity and hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrate basic mechanical design approaches and capabilities; proficient in CAD.
• Have basic knowledge of various materials and their structural and thermal properties.
• Excellent communication, organizational and people skills and the ability to work across functional groups.
• Ability to articulate and promote Engineering best-practices.
• Able to work on site in Peachtree City, GA facility for 40 hours a week.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with marketing and lead engineers to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable, and consistent with voice of the customer (VoC).
• Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordinate with internal and third‑party compliance.
• Meet project tooling budget and product cost requirements.
• Coordinate with sourcing team to ensure vendors are identified, quotations are obtained, and quality standards/form deliverables are met.
• Prototype and build Proof‑of‑Concepts.
