Job summary

Signify's Cooper Lighting Solutions offers a Mechanical Engineering Intern role onsite in Peachtree City, GA. You will help translate customer requirements into designs, review CAD models, and support tooling budgets while coordinating with sourcing and prototyping teams.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an undergrad or master's in mechanical engineering, proficient in CAD, and able to communicate across groups. This internship may lead to a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrate basic mechanical design approaches and CAD proficiency.
• Knowledge of materials and their structural/thermal properties.
• Excellent communication and ability to work across teams.
• On-site work at Peachtree City facility for 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with marketing and lead engineers to align project specs with VoC.
• Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, analyses, drawings, and testing plans.
• Meet project tooling budgets and product cost requirements.
• Coordinate with sourcing to secure vendor quotes and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
• Prototype and build proof-of-concepts.
