Signify's Cooper Lighting Solutions offers a Mechanical Engineering Intern role onsite in Peachtree City, GA. You will help translate customer requirements into designs, review CAD models, and support tooling budgets while coordinating with sourcing and prototyping teams.

• Prototype and build proof-of-concepts.

This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Product Development team onsite in Peachtree City, GA, with Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting.

• Coordinate with marketing and lead engineers to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable, and consistent with voice of the customer (VoC)
• Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordinate with internal and third-party compliance
• Meet project tooling budget and product cost requirements
• Coordinate with sourcing team to ensure vendors are identified, quotations are obtained, and quality standards/form deliverables are met
• Prototype and build Proof-of-Concepts

• Currently in pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Demonstrate basic mechanical design approaches and capabilities; proficient in CAD
• Have basic knowledge of various materials and their structural and thermal properties
• Excellent communication, organizational and people skills and the ability to work across functional groups
• Ability to articulate and promote Engineering best-practices
• Able to work on site in our Peachtree City, Ga facility for 40 hours a week

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.

This internship could lead to an at will full-time role.

Pay Rate: $23.00 to $31.00 per hour (based on year of study)
