The intern will read engineering drawings, solve problems with data, and help deploy best practices to improve yields. Suitable candidates are current sophomores/juniors/seniors in Mechanical Engineering seeking hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong project management and structured problem solving.
• Eagerness to learn quickly.
• Ability to design and analyze experiments using statistical tools.
• Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively in a team to implement manufacturing process improvements.
• Collaborate with mentors to identify methods for automating processes.
• Utilize a structured engineering approach to deploy best practices for process control and to improve yields.
• Initiate and/or update documentation of processes into work instructions.
• Compare existing manufacturing practices with external benchmarks and industry best practices and propose appropriate improvements.
• Maintains knowledge on current industry standards
• Lead capital project efforts to resolve production capacity and technology capability issues
• Present multiple project updates to the local leadership team
• Limited travel required for workshops and trade shows
