Job summary

TTM Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern for a 12–14 week program (May to August). You will assist in implementing manufacturing process improvements and collaborate across the organization on manufacturability and cost-saving initiatives.

You will read engineering drawings, apply structured problem solving, and help document, analyze data and support capital projects in a global PCB manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Project management and structured problem solving with the ability to make data-based and ethical decisions
• Eagerness to learn quickly
• Capability for designing and analyzing experiments utilizing statistical tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including strong verbal, writing and presentation skills
• Ability to lead and participate effectively in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively to implement manufacturing process improvements
• Collaborate with program mentors and champions to identify best methods for automating processes
• Utilize a structured engineering approach to deploy best practices for process control and to improve yields
• Initiate and/or update documentation of processes into work instructions
• Compares existing manufacturing practices with external benchmarks and industry best practices and proposes appropriate improvements
• Maintains knowledge on current industry standards
• Leads capital project efforts to resolve production capacity and technology capability issues
• Present multiple project updates to the local leadership team
• Limited travel required for workshops and trade shows
