Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design and evaluation for new construction and renovations.

You will work with licensed engineers, perform routine assignments, assist with analyses, participate in meetings, and observe the design process from concept to construction while developing professional relationships and networking within Hanson teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Preferred to have completed at least the sophomore year before the start of the internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems design.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering staff in the execution of project deliverables.
• Assist with engineering analyses, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and coordination activities.
• Observe and contribute to the design process from concept through construction.
• Gain exposure to client service, project management, and field activities.
• Build professional relationships through networking opportunities, intern events, and collaboration across Hanson teams.
