Job summary

IMEG Corp. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week Summer 2027 program in Long Island, NY. You will assist in analysis, design, and oversight of mechanical systems for government, municipal, and science/tech projects, collaborating with experienced engineers.

You'll gain hands-on experience from day one, support project budgets, and help meet client expectations, working in a cross-functional team with a strong emphasis on energy-efficient design and BIM tools.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and at least 2 years toward a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Skilled in AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical system design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment.
• Assist with client relations, design notebooks, and documentation for permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical teams and vendors.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and instructions while tracking progress.
