Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Newton, MA, to support standard engineering tasks, update designs, and assist lead engineers on diverse projects.

The role focuses on Global Facilities projects across manufacturing, data centers, and mission-critical facilities, with emphasis on learning and growth. Interns must be enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s program and legally able to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program (ABET strongly preferred).
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education or technical certificate program related to the work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Prior internship or consulting experience preferred.
• Active campus/community involvement and strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with others.
• Self-motivated with a desire to grow in the field.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties.
• Update and correct designs as needed.
• Support various market-specific assignments within Global Facilities.
