Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, CA invites applicants for the WDI Show Mechanical Engineering Intern program for Spring 2027. You will design mechanical components, create SolidWorks models, and perform loads and stress calculations.

You will support animation figures and show equipment, generate drawings and reports, and participate in testing and commissioning. The internship runs January to June 2027; applicants must be enrolled in an accredited engineering program, 18+, and have work

Qualifications

• Basic engineering analysis and calculations.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling tools.
• Availability to work various shifts (8am–5pm).

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components under direction.
• Create models and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Perform loads, stress analyses, and sizing calculations.
• Provide production support for animation figures and show equipment.
• Support test and commissioning of show hardware.
• Generate drawings and engineering reports documenting designs.
