Job summary

Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, CA is seeking a Mechanical Design & Production Intern for Spring 2027 to support design and hands-on production of show equipment, animatronics and effects. You will help fabricate prototypes, review drawings, and contribute to integration efforts with engineers and QA.

The role requires enrolled student in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, basic fabrication skills, and strong teamwork. Pay is hourly with benefits; must be available Jan–June 2027.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with machining, welding, and mechanical assembly.
• Hands-on experience from industry, school, or club projects.
• Proficient in basic fabrication tools and reading technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to take on new challenges and learn from team members.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design and hands-on production, focusing on special effects, animatronics, and show action equipment.
• Assist with prototype fabrication and assembly of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Contribute to mechanical design, design reviews, drawings, and documentation.
• Support project goals including mock-ups, integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Work with Quality Control and Engineering to resolve issues.
• Suggest process improvements and uphold communication and integrity standards.
