Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineering internship at our Defense Systems Sector in Clearfield, UT. The qualified student will join the SDSD group and contribute to component design, mechanical analysis, and repair processes while collaborating with the government customer.

Qualifications

• Be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and will be enrolled Fall 2027.
• Majoring in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical contribution for new component/tool design, requirements definition, mechanical analysis, and repair processes.
• Interact and work daily with the government customer to ensure projects expectations are met and schedules are kept.
• Understand USAF processes, procedures, and requirements; develop mechanical integration approaches based on required instructions.
• Performs component research, system level analysis, detailed trade studies, and data analytics.
