Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking several Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 to join the Mechanical Engineering Service Team, focusing on mechanical design, prototyping, and metrology. The 10-week internship includes presenting project details to leadership at the end.

As an intern you will draft CAD models, run dimension tests, document results, and contribute to 3D printing and part fabrication. Candidates pursuing ME-related degrees with curiosity and good communication are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with vehicle systems, including body and electronics.
• Experience with 3D CAD and/or CAM.
• Knowledge of 3D printing and/or machining is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Demonstrated communication ability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sample parts for evaluation using lab best practices.
• Conduct internal dimensional testing and document results.
• Record data and share results with product and engineering teams.
• Create CAD models, prototypes, drawings, and documentation.
• Interpret 3D models and 2D drawings for prototyping.
• Maintain Lean/5S environment.
