Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking a Seasonal Help - Engineering internship in Madison, IN to assist engineers with new product design and development projects. You will create and revise 3D CAD models, support prototype development, and document test results in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering with sophomore standing and strong Excel and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum sophomore standing preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with new product design and development projects.
• Create and revise 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Support prototype development, assembly, and evaluation activities.
• Conduct product testing and record test results for engineering review.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting of test findings.
• Help maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and bill of materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and product management teams to support project objectives.
• Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and development processes.
• Perform other engineering-related duties and projects as assigned.
