Job summary

Battelle Energy Alliance, in collaboration with Idaho National Laboratory (INL), seeks an undergraduate intern to support mechanical design and glovebox projects under a Senior Manager in MFC Mechanical Design and Reliability Engineering. Work includes design, fabrication, drawing creation, P&ID updates, piping design and calculations, and installation/removal drawings for facility upgrades.

The team operates on a 4x10 schedule onsite at MFC; start date and duration vary by project and student

Qualifications

• Undergraduate junior or senior in Mechanical Engineering, full-time.
• GPA at least 3.0.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT/OPT).
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, Creo, NX, etc.).
• Familiarity with P&IDs.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).
• Resume/CV and unofficial transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design and glovebox projects.
• Create drawings and fabrication documentation.
• Update P&IDs and perform piping design/calculations.
• Prepare installation/removal drawings for upgrades.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team.
