Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Bellevue, WA. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting building projects under the supervision of a professional or Project Manager.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, prepare drawings and models, and participate in design reviews and site visits while applying standard engineering techniques and software tools.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.

In the role of Mechanical Engineering Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
• Support multidisciplinary project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of building projects.
• Assist with the preparation of drawings, models, renderings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, and other design professionals.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits.
• Conduct research on building systems, codes, sustainability initiatives, and emerging technologies.
• Utilize industry-standard software and digital tools to support project development.
• Perform other duties as needed
• Internship is for Summer 2027

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SketchUp, or other design software is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
