Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will gain real-world experience on exciting building engineering projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and mentors from our employee-owned culture.

You'll apply standard engineering techniques, assist with drawings and construction documents, and participate in design reviews, site visits, and research on building systems and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects.
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
• Support multidisciplinary project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of building projects.
• Assist with the preparation of drawings, models, renderings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, and other design professionals.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and site visits.
• Conduct research on building systems, codes, sustainability initiatives, and emerging technologies.
• Utilize industry-standard software and digital tools to support project development.
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SketchUp, or other design software is a plus.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Bellevue, WA: $25.00 - $27.00
