Job summary

RTX, in East Hartford, is offering a Fall 2027 Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Co-op with Pratt & Whitney. The program runs August through December 2027, a full-time Monday-Friday schedule designed to immerse students in hands-on aerospace maintenance and CTS team activities.

You will support troubleshooting, component and systems work, assist with AOGs, and contribute to updating technical data and maintenance manuals, gaining real-world experience in a leading defense aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the co-op session.
• Minimum Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Responsibilities

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run August - December 2027 (Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
• Support daily activities for the Troubleshooting, Components, Systems, Cold Section, Hot Section and Oil Systems teams in Customer Technical Services (CTS).
• Assist operators with AOGs and coordinating resolution of field issues.
• Develop and update technical data and maintenance manual content, and guiding technical publications on hardware-related topics.

What You Will Do

As Mechanical Engineering Fall 2027 Co-op at Pratt & Whitney, you will......

• Support the V2500 engine and CTS engineers through involvement in:

Resolving in-service events, overhaul findings, and MRO work-stops.

• Assist operators with AOGs and coordinating resolution of field issues.
• Develop and update technical data and maintenance manual content, and guiding technical publications on hardware-related topics.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
