Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. (SEWS) invites an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student for a co-op in the Electronics Business Unit - Development Department. The on-site program will support mechanical development projects and prepare you for future full-time positions.

You will learn design and development of electro-mechanical junction boxes, create 3D fuse box designs using Unigraphics NX, and work with schematics and BOMs while supporting testing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Undergrad student enrolled in Mechanical Engineering; junior preferred, seniors considered.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 overall.
• Strong English written and verbal skills.
• 15 hours minimum during academic months, Day Shift Mon-Fri 8am-5pm ET.

Responsibilities

• Learn design and development of electro-mechanical junction boxes.
• Create and modify 3D fuse box designs, design changes, and drawings using Unigraphics NX.
• Interpret, maintain, and develop schematics and BOMs.
• Prepare materials for testing and support testing activities.
• Collaborate with team on continuous improvement.
• Assist with open projects in the Mechanical Development group.
