Job summary

BorgWarner Drivetrain and Morse Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op – Engine Solenoids to join the Propulsion Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The role runs January 2027 through August 2027, requiring 40 hours per week on site as a full-time student.

You will assist in design, development, and validation of new products, support prototype builds, and help create tooling for testing and validation efforts. Strong communication and CAD/CAE familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering student (Mechanical preferred).
• GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools preferred.
• Ability to report onsite to our Auburn Hills campus at least 3 times a week.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a full-time student.

Responsibilities

• Assists in design, development, and validation of new products.
• Works with product engineers to support prototype builds with documentation and data processing.
• Works with CAD designers or individually to develop tooling used for assembly, performance and validation testing.
• Gathers benchmarking data (performance, design, manufacturing strategy) of competitors’ products and documents with reports.
• Assists test engineers in managing test plans, setting up durability tests and writing reports.
