Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Nashville office is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the MEP team on diverse projects in the Nashville area.

You will use technical software, contribute to HVAC design, and coordinate across disciplines while growing professionally in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelors or Masters).
  • EIT/EI certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve client problems.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and/or SolidWorks.

Overview

Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Nashville, Tennessee (TN) office's MEP team!

Responsibilities
  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project managers as required.
  • Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on large scale HVAC design.
  • Project type will vary but may include Airports, Facilities, Universities, and more.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in a similar mechanicalengineering role
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT/EI certification or have the ability to obtain certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
