Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to water and wastewater projects across the UK water market. You will shape mechanical design from concept through commissioning, ensuring safety, reliability and sustainable solutions.

Working with multi-disciplinary teams, you will coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers, travel to sites as needed and strive for practical, compliant outcomes that meet programme and budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Working towards IEng/CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.

Responsibilities

• Develop the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure through outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, defining safe access and lifting arrangements, above ground pipework layouts.
• Coordinate with the project team comprising Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to ensure designs are on programme, within budget, and to the required quality.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design, construction and beyond.
• Engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to supporting their aims.
