Position Summary

Our Philadelphia office is seeking a Project Manager with experience in water/wastewater design. You will work alongside other professional engineers on water, wastewater, and/or green stormwater projects in the Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a variety of water, wastewater, and green stormwater infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Provide project management and technical leadership, overseeing the development of design drawings and specifications and ensuring successful project delivery from planning through construction.
• Manage multidisciplinary design teams, supervising and coordinating several assignments simultaneously.
• Establish and periodically review scope, schedule, and budgets; review progress against a baseline.
• Act as a role model and ambassador for Mott MacDonald, articulating and representing the brand, vision, and value proposition internally and externally.

Sample Projects

• PWD Northern Liberties Flood Relief Project (NLFRP) – Multi-phase flood relief program involving design and construction of ~5,000 ft of varied‑size concrete box sewer, equalization/junction chambers, and control structures.
• PAWC Lake Scranton Transmission Main Rehabilitation – Evaluation and rehabilitation of a leaking 48‑inch transmission main within a 4,300‑ft mountain tunnel, delivered sliplining with a 42‑inch HDPE pipe.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater‑related projects.
• PE or ability to obtain within one year in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents.
• Strong technical leadership experience in water or wastewater linear infrastructure, AutoCAD Civil3D, and green stormwater design.
• At least one year managing projects, including project budgets, schedules, staff, and client interface.
• Self‑starter with the ability to lead and manage people and projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• M.S. degree in civil or environmental engineering.
