Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking an outstanding mechanical engineer for a contract assignment to design flight-critical avionics systems. You will develop 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis, with a focus on prototype and production-ready components.

Required: a BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Robotics; SolidWorks modeling and drafting; experience with electronics assemblies, rapid prototype tooling, and production tooling; strong communication

• BSc or MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent.
• Proficient with SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Experience designing mechanical assemblies for electronics and with rapid prototype tooling and production tooling.

About the role:

We're looking for an outstanding mechanical engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must will be responsible for developing 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis specifically for flight critical avionics systems. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production level designs.

Requirements:

• BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent
• Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drafting
• Experience designing mechanical assemblies for electronics
• Experience with rapid prototype tooling
• Experience with production tooling
• Experience in project management
• Strong communication and writing skills

Preferred requirements:

• Thermal simulation analysis using ANSYS IcePak and/or Siemens Star CCM
• Mechanical stack-up analysis
• Structural Load Analysis
• Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools

This posting is for a contract assignment with Tundra Technical Solutions to provide services to our client.

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $73.43/hour - $83.22/hour.
