Job summary

KBR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems for NSA Bahrain. The role covers design, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning to meet operational requirements with emphasis on safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

The position is onsite with fulltime deployment to NSA Bahrain in Manama, Bahrain, and requires a US citizen at minimum per basic qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical design, engineering, or project support.
• Knowledge of engineering standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
• Proficiency with CAD and simulation software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare and review engineering designs, technical drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical systems such as piping, HVAC, rotating equipment, and structural components.
• Perform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and fluid flow calculations to validate design integrity and performance.
• Review vendor documents and technical submittals to ensure alignment with project requirements and quality standards.
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance evaluation of mechanical systems to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, instrumentation, and operations to ensure successful integration and execution of projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout all engineering activities.
