Job summary

Green Expert Technology Inc. (GreenXT) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide in-service engineering and technical support for Navy HM&E systems, including AC/R and auxiliary machinery, aboard ships and in shipyards.

The role involves reviewing designs, coordinating MACHALTs/SC Ds, and participating in NSWCPD SEP activities to ensure proper installation and operation of auxiliary systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • Three (3) years of Navy Ship Auxiliary systems experience (AC/R, HES-C, Auxiliary Fuel, Lube Oil, pumps, valves).
  • Three (3) years of experience with distributed machinery on Navy ships.
  • Knowledge of NSWCPD SEP, MACHALTs, engineering change proposals, and ship change documents (SCDs).
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs and work in ladders, ships, shipyards, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-service engineering for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC/R), Auxiliary, Combat Support, Life Support and Ventilation, and/or Compressed Air Systems
  • Provide engineering/technical support, test procedure development, testing, and onsite coordination support for MACHALTs, ECPs, and SCDs.
  • Review preliminary designs, detail designs, and drawings; identify discrepancies between installation drawings and actual vessel configuration; identify interferences
  • Provide Ship system configuration, testing, training, support, troubleshooting, and assessments of HM&E systems
  • Conduct pre- and post-installation ship checks to verify the accuracy of installation drawings
  • Actively participate in the NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), including meetings, action items, sub-teams, and training/assessments; support SEP tools and processes

The candidate will provide programmatic; administrative; engineering; technical; training; logistical; maintenance; installations/alterations; Life Cycle Management; technical data management; catalog updating, and general systems, and equipment support for HM&E systems for the NSWCPD, specifically for the Auxiliary Machinery Systems Division.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide Ship system configuration, testing, training, support, troubleshooting, and assessments of HM&E systems
  • Conduct pre- and post-installation ship checks to verify the accuracy of installation drawings
  • Actively participate in the NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), which includes attending meetings; completing action items; participating on sub teams, and participating in training, and assessments. Provide support for Systems Engineering Plan tools and processes
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
  • Three (3) years of experience in: Navy Ship Auxiliary systems, including AC/R, HES-C, Auxiliary Fuel, and Lube Oil systems, Auxiliary Pumps, and Smart Valves, Auxiliary Machinery, and testing of these systems.
  • Three (3) years of experience in: Navy Ship Auxiliary systems, including distributed machinery
  • Control systems and software; Auxiliary Fuel, and Lube Oil systems; Auxiliary Pumps, and Smart Valves; Auxiliary Machinery, and the testing of these systems
  • Knowledge of NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), Alterations (MACHALTs), engineering change proposals, and/or ship change documents (SCDs) processes
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
