Job summary

Green Expert Technology Inc. (GreenXT) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering, training, and life cycle support for HM&E systems aboard Navy vessels. The role covers AC/R, auxiliary machinery, and system testing, with on-site coordination for MACHALTs and SCDs.

The candidate will contribute to Life Cycle Management, technical data management, and installation/alterations work for NSWCPD in the Auxiliary Machinery Systems Division. A DoD Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Three years of Navy Ship Auxiliary systems experience (AC/R, HES-C, Auxiliary Fuel, Lube Oil systems).
• Three years of experience with Navy Ship Auxiliary systems, including distributed machinery.
• Knowledge of NSWCPD SEP, MACHALTs, engineering change proposals, and SCDs processes.
• Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment (minimum 30 lbs).
• Ability to work on ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-service engineering for AC/R, Auxiliary, Combat Support, Life Support, and Ventilation systems.
• Support testing, procedures, and on-site coordination for MACHALTs and SCDs.
• Review designs and identify discrepancies with actual ship configurations.
• Support Ship system configuration, testing, training, and troubleshooting of HM&E systems.
• Conduct pre- and post-installation ship checks to verify installation drawings.
• Participate in NSWCPD SEP meetings and tool/process trainings.

The candidate will provide programmatic; administrative; engineering; technical; training; logistical; maintenance; installations/alterations; Life Cycle Management; technical data management; catalog updating, and general systems, and equipment support for HM&E systems for the NSWCPD, specifically for the Auxiliary Machinery Systems Division.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide in-service engineering for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC/R), Auxiliary, Combat Support, Life Support and Ventilation, and/or Compressed Air Systems
• Provide engineering/technical support, test procedure development, testing, and onsite coordination support for programs, including Machine Alterations (MACHALTs), engineering change proposals, and/or ship change documents (SCDs).
• Review preliminary designs, detail designs, and drawings; Identify discrepancies between installation drawings, and actual vessel configuration; identify interferences
• Provide Ship system configuration, testing, training, support, troubleshooting, and assessments of HM&E systems
• Conduct pre- and post-installation ship checks to verify the accuracy of installation drawings
• Actively participate in the NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), which includes attending meetings; completing action items; participating on sub teams, and participating in training, and assessments. Provide support for Systems Engineering Plan tools and processes

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
• Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
• Three (3) years of experience in: Navy Ship Auxiliary systems, including AC/R, HES-C, Auxiliary Fuel, and Lube Oil systems, Auxiliary Pumps, and Smart Valves, Auxiliary Machinery, and testing of these systems.
• Three (3) years of experience in: Navy Ship Auxiliary systems, including distributed machinery
• Control systems and software; Auxiliary Fuel, and Lube Oil systems; Auxiliary Pumps, and Smart Valves; Auxiliary Machinery, and the testing of these systems
• Knowledge of NSWCPD System Engineering Program (SEP), Alterations (MACHALTs), engineering change proposals, and/or ship change documents (SCDs) processes
• Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
• Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
