Job summary

System One is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment in Freeport, TX for a temporary field assignment within maintenance and service. You will join a Houston-area team onsite, supporting design, evaluation and repair work on static process equipment.

The role requires a BS in ME, a PE license, 5–10 years of relevant experience, and proficiency with CAESAR II, HTRI, and related tools. Onsite work with standard benefits and contract-to-direct potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License is required.
• 5-10 years of static equipment experience in industrial apps.
• Experience with ASME VIII, TEMA, API standards for static equipment.
• CAESAR II, HTRI, and COMPRESS software experience.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend vendor and internal team meetings.
• Specify vessels, columns, tanks, heat exchangers, and other static equipment.
• Prepare data sheets and complete mechanical equipment specs.
• Perform technical and economic evaluations and bid tabulations.
• Attend vendor design and fabrication kickoff meetings.
• Perform ASME/NBIC/API code calculations and FFS evaluations.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment

Location: Freeport, TX

Type: Contract to Direct

Compensation: Depending on experience

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Hours: 5 - 8 hours day

System One is a high-caliber Mechanical Engineer to join an engineering team in Houston, TX. This role is a temporary field assignment working in maintenance and service department.

Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment responsibilities

• Attend vendor and internal team meetings
• Specify vessels, columns, tanks, heat exchangers, vessel internals and other static process equipment
• Prepare equipment data sheets, and full mechanical equipment and system specifications
• Perform technical and economic evaluations, bid tabulations, and prepare recommendations
• Attend vendor design and fabrication kickoff meetings
• Perform ASME/NBIC/API code repair and alteration calculations as well as FFS evaluations

Mechanical Engineer – Static Equipment Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-10 years of static equipment experience for industrial applications
• Professional Engineer License
• TWIC Card is a plus
• Experience in Pipe Stress Analysis using CAESAR II software
• Experience working with ASME Section VIII, TEMA, and API Standards for static equipment
• Strong Experience with ASME B31.1 and B31.3 Piping Codes
• Experience using PRG Solutions Software (FEPipe, NozzlePro, etc.) for Analysis
• Experience using HTRI for heat exchanger design and troubleshooting
• Experience with COMPRESS pressure vessel design software
• Strong attention to detail and capable to perform detailed technical document and drawing checking
