Job summary

System One is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment for a field assignment in Freeport, TX. This contract-to-direct role is onsite in an industrial plant with 5-8 hours per day, focusing on maintenance and service in the rotating equipment domain.

The role requires a PE license and 5–10 years of experience, plus hands-on work with pumps, seals, blowers, mixers, and compressors, to support reliability and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of industrial rotating equipment experience.
• Hands-on experience with pumps, seals, blowers, mixers and compressors.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• TWIC card is a plus.
• Experience with ASME and API rotating equipment standards.
• Experience with piping material class specifications.
• Significant exposure to vendor document review and verification of design accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to check technical documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose plant rotating equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot rotating equipment and coordinate repairs.
• Provide technical support to improve equipment performance.
• Collaborate with operations on troubleshooting and operability best practices.
• Coordinate piping material specifications development at the plant.
