Job summary

Omega Medical Imaging in Sanford, FL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design electromechanical systems for advanced medical imaging equipment, focusing on surgical tables, C-arms, and motion systems. You will create 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks, supporting manufacturing, testing, and verification throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Excellent proficiency with SolidWorks including complex parts and assemblies.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals (statics, stress/deflection, tolerancing).
• Experience with production drawings, BOMs, and released documentation.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and collaboration with machinists and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Design electromechanical mechanisms, structural components, assemblies, and motion systems for surgical tables, C-arms, and related imaging equipment.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks.
• Perform or support structural analysis and stress checks to meet medical-device requirements.
• Develop components using machined parts, sheet metal, weldments, bearings, shafts, and linear motion components.
• Apply DFM and DFA to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
• Collaborate with manufacturing for tooling, fixtures, and production aids.
• Support prototype builds, testing, verification, and design improvements.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk analyses, tolerancing, and change processes.
• Maintain part numbers, BOMs, and engineering data in the MRP system.
