Job summary

Vaco is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for an onsite role in Delphos, Ohio. The engineer will design, validate, and document mechanical equipment and systems, creating 3D models and fabrication drawings to enable safe, sanitary, and reliable production.

Required: BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in manufacturing design, proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T. Preferred: SolidWorks, ASME BPE, ammonia refrigeration, and licensure progress.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent capability.
• 3+ years of manufacturing mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and fabrication drawings with GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and fabrication drawings for tooling, guards, and platforms.
• Perform calculations for loads, stress, deflection, torque, and drive sizing.
• Select food-environment materials and sanitary finishes.
• Manage fabrication vendors, quoting, and BOMs.
• Design equipment modifications and guarding; assess safety and OEM impact.
• Support mechanical utilities and piping; perform capacity calculations.
• Contribute to Process Safety Management for ammonia refrigeration.
• Investigate failures and propose maintenance or replacements.
• Maintain standards and provide direction to designers and vendors.
