Job summary

Mican Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical/Systems Design Engineer to coordinate engineering activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customer service to meet service and production goals.

The role emphasizes modular design, CAD proficiency, and design standardization to improve producibility and time-to-market. The candidate will read blueprints and schematics, with a minimum of five years in mechanical design.

Job description

Coordinate engineering activities through engineering team, manufacturing, supply chain and customer service to attain service and production goals consistent with Vector's high quality, reliability, cost, and customer service level requirements. Plans personnel capacity to ensure organization's ability to meet market needs (costs, producibility, delivery, safety, and quality) are met in a continual improvement - safe work environment.

• Leads designs for new systems and products. Collaborate with Engineering, Sales and Service teams to use existing designs within new configurations with the goal of minimizing Engineering time to Market.
• Use standard concepts and modular design methodology.
• Create design templates to improve sales drawing throughput and consistency.
• Work with Production to maximize efficiencies within system designs, concentrating on modular system concepts.
• Develop and implement engineering standards allowing for part design traceability, updates improvements and quality control.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
• W2 Candidates Only
• DOT (Department of Transportation), trailers, electrical, vacuums and pumps would be a plus.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the Mechanical / Systems Design Field.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• Strong understanding of production and a broad range of production methods in order to continually improve the producibility of our products
• Applicable knowledge of Solidworks or other CAD software.
• Hydraulics, electromechanical and systems experience preferred.
• 3D Parametric Modeling Software and Inventor experience a plus and in-depth hands on Solidworks experience preferred.
