Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking bold Mechanical Engineers (multiple levels) to join our fast-moving, interdisciplinary teams in Alexandria, VA. You’ll work on rapid-turn projects turning concepts into hardware for defense and intelligence applications.

You’ll design, prototype, and integrate electromechanical systems, collaborate with senior engineers, and iterate quickly in small teams. Clear communication and hands-on problem solving are essential as you shape the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or related experience.
• Master’s or PhD may substitute experience for senior levels.
• Active US security clearance or ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, prototype fabrication, and verification of specialty products.
• Perform detailed system and sub-system analysis, simulation, and design work.
• Tackle complex mechanical concepts and determine design tradeoffs.
• Interface with project teams and external customers for product development.
• Participate in assembly, system test planning, and test procedure generation.
• Document processes and testing using structured formats; propose new formats when needed.
