Job summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an imaginative and adaptable Junior Mechanical Engineer who is on schedule to graduate in May 2027 to join our Alexandria, VA location. If you’re eager to apply your foundational mechanical engineering knowledge to design and rapidly prototype mission hardware for the defense and intelligence communities, this is a fantastic opportunity!

You’ll work on projects that move quickly from concept to deployment, turning ideas into finished products used worldwide,

Qualifications

• 0 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret level security clearance.
• Experience with project management techniques and practices.
• Experience using 3-D modeling software for complex assemblies, detailed design, and rendering.
• Knowledge of raw materials, prototyping and production processes, quality control, and fabrication techniques for electro-mechanical devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide design, development, prototype fabrication, and verification testing support for specialized products.
• Perform system and subsystem analysis, simulation, and design work.
• Work with complex mechanical systems and make design tradeoffs.
• Coordinate with project teams and external customers for product development.
• Assist in assembly, system test planning, and test procedure generation.
• Document processes and testing using structured formats and contribute to quality management templates.
